DC is growing its movie slate in some interesting ways, with blockbuster movies being made either for theaters or for exclusive release on HBO Max. One of the most recent entries in the recent list is The Wonder Twinswhich was announced to be in the works next month with black Adam And the Scoop! Young man Adam Stekel wrote and directed the project. While the idea of having the movie in DC’s arsenal is still relatively new, it appears to be taking off very quickly. This is a Hashtag Show Reports indicate that production on the project will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on July 5th this year.
Their report also provides details about some of the characters who will be joining the world of twin superheroes Zan and Jayna. These selection details include a list of Jayna’s roommate, Kenzie, with the production looking for an Australian actress of any ethnicity over the age of 18 to play an 18-year-old. It’s upbeat but it’s not all there, with a pair of screws loose. Her only quest is to become best friends with Jayna, no matter the cost. She has a mutual crush on Zane, aka Chad. It also encourages Chad even though his powers are transformed into different forms of water.
The report also hints at the film’s potential opponents, listed under the names Beals and Finca. They are described as 17-year-old twins who walk and talk in unison and wear identical outfits modeled on the twins from The Shining. The duo is described as “nervous,” and they are sent on a mission to kill Jenna and Zan. Given the fact that there is no obvious comic analogue for either character, it would be interesting to see if they have DC counterparts, or newly created characters associated with a larger comic villain.
The Wonder Twins It will follow alien siblings Zan and Jayna, twins from Planet Exxor, Zan has the ability to transform into any form of water, while Jayna can transform into any animal – powers that occur after the pair touch their hands and say their famous mantra “Wonder double powers, Activate!” Together, the pair fight evil by themselves and with heroes like the Justice League, along with their monkey friend named Gleek.

The film will be produced by Marty Bowen and Wake Godfrey of Temple Hill Productions, which has spawned hits like twilight movies and bad luck.
The pair have also appeared in multiple animated series, and were portrayed in live action by David Gallagher and Allison Scagliotti in the Season 9 episode of Smallville. Characters have also been teased periodically within the CW’s Arrowverse, with an unrelated couple named Zay and Jayna appearing in the first season episode of Sparkleand Glick harassed at the end of the network-crossing event “Crisis on Infinite Earths”.
